Obituary of Angela Loughrey

Angela Loughrey, 91 of Jamestown passed away August 3, 2019 at Northgate Heath Care Facility. She was born March 11, 1928 in Jamestown NY the daughter of Anthony and Maria Destro.

Angela married her Husband William Loughrey on December 31, 1966 at St. James RCC.  She was a communicant of St. James RCC and a member of the Cursillo. Angela volunteered through LSS Foster Grandparent Program at Chautauqua County Head Start from 1992 to 2014. She also gave her time to Kairos prison ministry and St. Susan’s soup kitchen. In her recent years she spent time at Ralph Wilson Jr Adult Day Services.

 Angela loved to spend time with her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. She loved to stay very active and was always there for her friends and family whenever she was called upon. She will be deeply missed.

 Angela is survived by her son William Loughrey of Redford MI, her daughter Mary Ellen (Mark) Weller of Pendleton NY, her grandchildren Cecelia Weller and William Weller both of Pendleton NY, her sisters in law Anne Schneider of Ocean City NJ, Nora Grogan of Brookhaven PA, and Virginia Destro of Jamestown NY and her brother in law Francis Mangan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Angela is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Loughrey in 1993, her brothers Carl, Sam, Joe, Mike, and Buster Destro, her sisters, Josephine Destro, Sarah Monella, and Rose Foti.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 8, 2019 from 5-8pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 9, 2019 10am at St. James RCC.

 Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Mary Ellen Weller for the support of The Ralph Wilson Jr. Adult Day Services.
