Obituary of Sadie Carcione

Sadie Messina Carcione, 97 of Jamestown passed away November 17, 2018 at Heritage Park. She was born Santa Giuseppina Messina February 2, 1921 in Jamestown NY to Philip and Rosaria Messina. Sadie married Sebastian "Busty" Carcione August 2, 1941. She worked at Worsted Mills and Truck Lite Assembly for many years. Sadie volunteered at the St. James Thrift Shop and helped in the soup kitchen for many years. Sadie's biggest joy in life was her family. She was absolutely devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was an Intelligent woman who liked to keep up on current events. Sadie liked word searches and playing cards especially Skip Bo. Sadie was very close to her niece Roseanne Calla and Sister in law Ann Messina. Sadie is survived by her children Philip (Marty) Carcione of Jamestown NY, Michael J Carcione of Jamestown NY, her grandchildren Russell Carcione of Lakewood NY, Jennifer Price of Fluvanna NY, Philip (Nicole) Carcione of Roanoke VA, Peter Carcione of Buffalo NY, and Kristine Carcione of Kissimmee FL, 4 great grandchildren, Danielle Carcione of NYC, Nicole Carcione of Cary NC, Marissa Carcione of Raleigh NC, Carmela Carcione of Roanoke VA, and Josephine Carcione of Roanoke VA a sister Phyllis Denny of Tucson AZ and daughter in law Joanne Carcione of Grand Island NY. Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Sebastian Carcione in 1993, her brother Samuel Messina, sons Russell Carcione and Sebastian Carcione, and her sisters, Laura LaPlaca, Bessie DeLeo , Frances Paladino, Jennie Terrano, and Jessie Pappalardo, and step grand daughter Colleen Murry. Calling hours will be Tues from 4-7 pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services A Religious service will be held wed 11am at the Funeral Home Followed by a Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Jamestown NY.
