Obituary of Margaret L. Messina

Margaret L. Messina, (Tot) age 83, of Jamestown passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born August 26, 1933 in Nu Mine, PA, to Thomas and Theresa (Angelo) Perry. She married John R. Messina on November 27, 1952 in Jamestown and was predeceased by him on June 10, 2007. She retired from Black Stone as a keypunch in 1979. Margaret loved listening to the band Happy Days. She liked playing bingo, but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters: Cindy Sajdak and Mary Ann (Kenneth) Davis; one son, Perry (Sharon) Messina; six grandchildren: Kim Sajdak, Jason Sajdak, Kelly Davis, Kenneth (Charlene) Davis, Justin Messina, and Brittany Messina; great-granchildren: Jessica Sajdak, John Sajdak, Joseph Sajdak, Elaina Sajdak, Haleigh Cooper, Angel Beaver, Noah Beaver, Bryer Davis, Madison Messina, Taylor Messina, and Ryder Messina; great-great grandson, Aiden Sajdak; brother-in-law, Richard Messina; niece, Rosanne Ortolano; and several nieces and nephews, and her faithful canine companion, Maggie. Besides her parents and husband, John, Margaret was predeceased by her sisters: Jean Greenland and Rose Ortolano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 2nd, in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Jamestown, NY. The family will be present to receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. You may send a condolence to the family by visiting www.hubertfuneralhome.com.
