Obituary of Gerald William Peru

Gerald William Peru Jr., 47, of 114 W. Seventh St., Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 12:50 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa. He was born March 25, 1969, the son of Gerald W. "Butch" and Karen Mae (Stenstrom) Peru of 23 E. Pleasant St., Corry, Pa.
As a youth, he was a member of CCYHA Hockey Team and played for the Jamestown Red Raiders until his graduation in 1988. He was an EMT with the Celoron Fire Department for a while.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his six children: Anthony M. (Heather) Peru, Cassandra R. Peru, Alex C. (Angela) Peru, Niklas A. Lane, Kreana N. (Joshua) Peru and Rayann P.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Kristine (Jimmie)Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Gladys Peru; and his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Gertrude Stenstrom. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at the First Lutheran Church.
