Obituary of Peter J Paterniti

Peter J. Paterniti, 90, of Jamestown, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday (January 9, 2017) at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa. He was born in Jamestown on May 19, 1926 the son of Gaetano and Mary Guiffre Paterniti. Peter was the owner and operator of Paterniti Notions and Novelties for several years. He was previously employed as a manager for Qual Top Beverages, a salesman for Sears in the tire deparment and owned Paterniti Fruit Co., with his father in Brooklyn Square. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Peter is survived by his wife, Doris Polisoto Paterniti, whom he married on April 19, 1953 in St. James Catholic Church, two daughters, Dawn (Todd) Eklum, Jamestown and Trudy Stevens, Pittsford, N.Y., eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Guy Paterniti, who died on March 5, 2007. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
