Obituary of Angeline LaValle Pollino

Angeline “Angie” LaValle Pollino, 91, formerly of 52 Vega St., Jamestown, died at 6:20 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 in the Lutheran Home.
She was born in Falconer on July 13, 1925, the daughter of Angelo and Rose Calabrese LaValle.
In earlier years, Angie was employed as a machine operator at National Worsted Mills. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
She was a former member of Henry Mosher Post #638 American Legion Auxiliary and the John W. Tiffany VFW Auxiliary.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards.
Angie is survived by her two sons, Robert (Linda) Pollino, Ashville, NY, and Anthony (Laurie) Pollino, Jamestown, NY, her grandchildren, Anthony (Frances) Pollino II, Fuquay Varina, N.C., Jared (Melissa) Pollino, Holly Springs, N.C., Miranda (Shaibu) Alfa and Derek (Kristen) Pollino, Jamestown, NY, great-grandchildren, Gavin Quattrone, Jaden Alfa, Jaron and Hannah Pollino, Jamestown, and Lauren and Olivia Alfa, Mayville, NY, a sister, Roslyn (David) Lindstrom, Sebring, Fl. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy D. Pollino, a grandson, Robert “Bobby” Guy Pollino II, who was the “sunshine of her life”, a sister, Ida Cronin and a brother, James LaValle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m.
