Obituary of ​Giorgio Marchini

Giorgio Marchini, 90, of Jamestown, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday (July 7, 2016) at his residence. He was born in Milan, Italy on November 4, 1925 the son of Andrea and Umberta Quattro Marchini. While living in Milan, he had owned and operated a gas station for seventeen years. He also worked for a company that manufactured trucks and tanks in Cantu, Italy. When he moved to Jamestown, he was employed at Jamestown Wood Working, Monitor Furniture and Crawford Furniture. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Giorgio was a member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge #263 and was a financial officer, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Jamestown Moose Lodge and the Marco Polo Club. He is survived by his son, Daniel Marchini, Celoron, three grandchildren, Phill Marchini, Philadelphia, Pa., Nicholas Marchini, Celoron and Troy Marchini, Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Giannina Micciche Marchini whom he married on August 4, 1951 in Milan and who died on December 17, 1980 and by his second wife, Maria Calanunci Marchini whom he married on June 5, 1982 in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and who died on December 18, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, in Holy Apostles SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Mende, pastor, will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum. Friends will be received on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 pm.
