Obituary of Thomas P. Bartolo

Thomas P. Bartolo, 81, of One Houston Court W.E., Jamestown, died at 11:49 a.m. Friday (May 28, 2010) in the WCA Hospital.
He was born in Jamestown on February 26, 1929 the son of Sebastian and Gaetano Todaro Interbartolo.
Tom served as mayor of Celoron from 2005 - 2009 and he was previously chairman of the zoning board of appeals, a trustee and the deputy mayor. He was also instrumental in securing the funds needed in the building of the band shell in Celoron Park.
He was the owner and operator of Mr B's Restaurant in Jamestown for over twenty years and was a co-owner of the Red Coach Inn for many years. Tom was also employed at Sysco for over fifteen years, an insurance salesman and worked at Chautauqua Institute the last four years. His first job was delivering newspapers for Peck News and he also worked at B & G News.
Tom served with the US Army Compnay F, Second Battalion Third Infantry Regiment from 1946 to 1948.
His memberships include a life time member of the VFW Post #53, American Legion Henry Mosher Post #638 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lakewood Lodge #2587 and he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. B, as most people who knew him well, will be sadly missed by all. Besides his many accomplishments, his biggest joy was first, his bride Carol, his three daughters and his precious grandsons. They were his pride and joy, he also enjoyed watching his grandsons in all sports sitting there on the bench with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Carol Andersen Bartolo whom he married on June 26, 1954 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Warren, Pa., three daughters JoAnn (Charlie) Frazier, Bemus Point, Michele (Kevin) Howell, Hockley, Tx. and Christine Diane Bartolo and her finance Cris S. Martinez, Houston, Tx., two grandchildren Thomas J. and Joseph T. Frazier, Bemus Point.
He was preceded in death by a brother Peter Bartolo and a sister Josephine Lucco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m..
