Frank A. Nicastro, 80, of 327 Foote Ave., Jamestown, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday (April 30, 2010) in Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y. He was born in Jamestown, N.Y, on June 16, 1929, the son of Charles and Theresa Muscarella Nicastro. Frank was employed at Carborundum as a mold maker for over twenty five years, retiring in 1994, and he was previously employed at Weber Knapp. He served with the 914th Security Police, stationed at Niagara Falls International Airport for thirty-eight years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement, he was employed as a Constable for the City of Jamestown for over ten years. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Frank’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, David and Emily Nicastro, and he truly enjoyed his many family gatherings and his lively discussions about politics. Survivors include his wife Nancy Gullo Nicastro, whom he married on July 22, 1950 in St. James Catholic Church, a daughter, Kathy Nicastro, two grandchildren, David and Emily Nicastro, daughter-in-law Colleen McCarthy Nicastro, all of Jamestown, a brother, Anthony “Tony” Nicastro, Sun Valley, Ca. ,a sister, Angeline Pantano, Casselberry, Fl., sister-in-law Eileen Nicastro Valencia, Ca., and a brother-in-law Chuck Servesky, Burbank, Ca. He was preceded in death by a son Charles “Chuck” A. Nicastro, who died on October 12, 2005, and by three brothers, Samuel Nicastro, Anthony and Thomas Vitale, and by four sisters, Anne Servesky, Rose Guarnieri, Helen DeSorbo and Mary Mula. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. The main celebrant will be his nephew Rev. Joseph Gullo, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Arcade, N.Y., and the Rev. Todd Remick, pastor of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
