Leonard M. Lorenzo, Jr., 79, of Jamestown, died at 10:22 p.m. Tuesday (June 19, 2012) in the WCA Hospital.
He was born in Sinclairville on May 29, 1933 the son of the late Leonard M. and Frances Snyder Lorenzo.
He attended Jamestown and Cassadaga High Schools before serving in the US Navy from 1950 to 1952. He served worldwide on the USS Coral Sea and the USS Duxbury Bay.
In earlier years, he was employed as a foreman for Atwater Landscaping, Howard Tree Service and Asplaulgh Tree Service. In 1965 he started Len's Landscaping, which is now owned by his son, Leoanrd M. Lorenzo, Jr..
Len enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in his garden, hunting & fishing and spending time with his life long friend, Bud Beichner. Over the years, he earned the reputation of being one of the best landscaping and tree service men in the area.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Patricia A. Anderson Lorenzo, whom he married on December 29, 1965, a son, Leonard M. Lorenzo, III, two daughters, Kimberly A (Tim) Smeraldo and Lorraine P. Colwell, four grandchildren, Chloe Brink, Alyssa Himes and Shawn Newbree, all of Jamestown and Amber Sanford, Caldwell, Idaho, three great grandchildren, a sister, Anne Hirlemann, two nephews, Jon Hirlemann and Terry Cardinale, Jamestown. He was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Simpson.
There will be no funeral service. Visitation will not be observed.
