John L. Morreale
John L. Morreale, 88 , formerly of 8 Crane St., Jamestown, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday (March 10, 2012) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Pittston, Pa. on July 28, 1923 the son of Melchoiri and Mary DeMarco Morreale.
John was the owner and operator of Terminal Collision for twenty six years, retiring in 1978. He was previously employed at Curtis Wright Airplane in Buffalo for several years.
John served with the US Army from 1943 to 1946 as a truck driver and his medals earned were the American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles at St. John Catholic Church and was a member of the VFW Post#53 and the American Legion Samuel Derby Post#556.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lovecchio Morreale, Jamestown, a daughter, Mary Morreale, Reston, Va., five grandchildren, Nichole Abasi, Reston, Va., David Hodges, Denver, Co., Michelle (Herb) Anderson, Michael and John Morreale, Frewsburg, ten great grandchildren and a sister Concetta Battista, DuPont, Pa..
He was preceded in death by a son, Marcy Morreale and by two brothers, Samuel and Michael Morreale.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Apostles at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Mende, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
Friends will be received Tuesday, March 13th, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m..
