Obituary of Paul P. Peterson

Paul P. Peterson, 104, formerly of the Covenant Manor, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday (May 29, 2013) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Cumberland, Wisconsin on December 10, 1908 the son of Gust and Marie Olson Peterson. Paul was the owner and operator of the former Paul Peterson Kendall Service Station at 703 E. Sixth St. for twenty years. He then moved to Florida and was employed at First Federal Savings and Loan in DeLand, Fl., retiring in 1975. He was a member of First Covenant Church.
He is survived by two sons, Roderick (Sylvia) Peterson, Meridian, Mississippi and David (Maria) Peterson, Jamestown, six grandchildren, Francis (Shawna) Peterson and Lindsey Peterson, Rochester, N.Y., Karl (Dawn) Peterson, Carol (David) Keller, Kyle (Christie) Peterson, Birmingham, Al. and Katherine (Wesley) Roundsaville, Idaho, seven great grandchildren, Wyatt Peterson, Rochester, Jory and Bryce Keller, Sidney and Sofie Peterson, Birmingham, Al., Cooper and Olivia Roundsaville, Idaho, a brother, Emel Peterson, Jamestown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Helgren Peterson, whom he married on June 28, 1938 in Jamestown and who died on May 13, 2004, and by three sisters, Violet Peterson, Florence Kofod and Alberta Davis.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in First Covenant Church. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor, will officiate. Internment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701.
Visitation will not be observed. The Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
