Obituary of Salvatore Picardo

Salvatore Picardo, 79, of 317 East Virginia Blvd., died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday (March 17, 2013) in the Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. He was born in Marionopoli, Sicily on August 4, 1933 the son of Rosario and Emanuela Sardo Picardo. Salvatore was employed in the maintenance department of Chautauqua Hardware for over fifteen years, retiring in 1998. He was previously employed at Maddox Table Company for several years. He was a former parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Angela Infantiono Picardo whom he married on December 5, 1965 in Marionopoli, Sicily., two daughters, Emanuela "Lina" Thompson, JoAnne (Junior) Surrena, Jamestown, a son, Rev. Rosario (Callie) Picardo, Lexington, Ky., five grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda and Andrew Thompson, Zack and Junior Surrena, all of Jamestown, two sisters, Giovanna "JoAnn" Colletti, Jamestown and Calogera Picardo, Sicily. He was preceded in death by a brother, Calogero Picardo and by four sisters, Maria, Rosa, Damiana and Salvatrice Picardo. A private family funeral service will be held at the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services. Rev. Rosario Picardo, his son, will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
