Obituary of Colleen M. Flynn

Colleen M. Flynn, 50, of Hornell, NY died Monday May 23, 2016. She was born in Corning, NY on March 16, 1966, daughter of Maureen (Kelly) Flynn and the late James Flynn. Colleen graduated from Haverling Central School; and worked at local restaurants, for Corning Inc., and recently at H. P. Hood. Colleen loved to travel; shop for antiques; enjoyed fine food; and cats. She was giving; a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for others. She will be missed by those who have been privileged to know her. Besides her mother, she is survived by her sister, Michelle Coots; and her husband James of Bath; nephew Trevor Coots of Bath; Aunts: Patricia Quigley of Corning, Sylvia Kelly of Erwin, and Gwendolyn Dart of Montour Falls; special cousin Mark Coates; and many other cousins and friends. A private burial will take place at the Howard Cemetery at the convenience of family. Colleen was my very first friend, first best friend and like a big sister to me when we lived around the corner from each other in Corning, NY. I learned so much from her and we laughed a lot together as kids. We used to have a dream to travel together in a Winnebago. I am so happy to see that she loved to travel, as do I. We lost touch after she moved to Bath, but I will always have very fond memories of our great times together as kids and her family, who was always very kind to me. I know she suffered from breast cancer, but I sincerely hope she was able to find peace and happiness in her life. I send her family my condolences and prayers.
