Obituary of Anna B. Anderson

Anna B. (Annie) Anderson, age 91, Fairfield Avenue, Jamestown, NY, passed way on November 4, 2014. An area resident all of her life, she was born on November 3, 1923 in Falconer, NY and was the daughter of Kate and Stephen Beck.
Annie attended Falconer High School and in earlier years was employed by MRC, Falconer Plate Glass, Truck Light Inc. and managed the Cake Shop on Newland Avenue. She was the Treasurer of The Union National Furniture Factory Credit Union. She was very active in PTA and was honored with a Life Membership. She served on the Ways and Means Committee for several years.
She was known to be a tireless worker, smiling and joking, and thinking of herself last always. Nothing was too much to do for others. Annie was known for her baking and cake decorating. She volunteered wherever and whenever she could. She was a friend to all. Everyone that knew her loving, generous character will forever remember her exuberant, irrepressible spirit which will forever be a part of us.
Annie was a member of the Holy Apostles Parish formerly Saint Peter and Paul’s Church.
Surviving are her two children, Gordon David Anderson (Bonnie) and Kathleen Anderson Colby, both of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Robert Anderson Colby and Erika Ann Inez Colby, both living in Portland, Oregon, Nieces, Evelyn McDonald (Joe), Cynthia Metzler and Donna Conti of Colorado, Kati Steidham and Brook Finnegan of Idaho.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon R. Anderson, sisters Ruby Conti and Inez Anderson, and an uncle, Mathew Dallas.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, November 6, 2014 at the Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY. Friends will be received following the mass in the vestibule with a gathering downstairs thereafter.
