Obituary of Mary Gulino Petty

Mary Gulino Petty, 90, of 4568 East Overlook Dr., Williamsville,N.Y. formerly of Jamestown, died at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday (April 2, 2014) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Williamsville, N.Y. She was born in Jamestown on September 25, 1923 the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Restivo Gulino. Mary was employed as a medical technologist at the former Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo and was previously employed at JC Murphy. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Mary will be remembered by her family as a vibrant independent person who fully embraced her Italian heritage and put her family above all else. She truly enjoyed her life in the Buffalo area. She was a very gifted person who enjoyed music and had a great wit. Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas J. (Brenda) Petty Forestport, N.Y. and John J. Petty, Williamsville, N.Y., four grandchildren, Michael Petty, Nashville, Tn., Elizabeth (Darren) Cardenas, North Billerica, Ma., Emily and Jessica Petty, Williamsville, N.Y. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Louis Gulino and a sister, Rose Tabone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.Visitation will not be observed. The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
