Obituary of Carl R. Messina

Carl R. Messina, 63, of 423 Baker St., Jamestown, died at 1:55 a.m. Monday (June 22, 2015) in the WCA Hospital. He was born in Jamestown on September 12, 1951 the son of the late Carl and Sara Roselle Messina. Carl was employed at Security Credit Systems in Buffalo and previously was employed at Management Adjustment Bureau in Getzville, N.Y. and Avco Financial Services, Atlanta, Ga. He served with the U.S. Navy and earned the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the Celoron American Legion Post #777. He is survived by his sister in law, Kathy Messina, Jamestown, two nephews, Andy (Michelle) Messina, Concord, OH and Marty (Lori) Messina, Lakewood, an uncle, James (Kathy) Roselle and two aunts, Ann Paterniti and Nancy Roselle, Jamestown. Several cousins, great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Messina and an uncle, Ross Roselle. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Deacon Michael Lennon of St. James Catholic Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
