Joseph Immordino, 80, of Jamestown , died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 in WCA Hospital, Jamestown, NY.
Joseph was born in Villalba , Sicily on December 19, 1934, the son of Calogero and Angela Tramontana Immordino.
Joe was employed as a laborer at SKF for twenty- nine years, retiring in 1997. He was formerly employed at Maddox Table Company, Jamestown Veneer & Plywood and Mallable Iron.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the Lakewood American Legion and Jamestown Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Donisi Immordino, whom he married on September 10, 1958 in Sommatino , Sicily , a son, Chuck (Stacy) Immordino, Gibsonia , Pa. , a daughter, Angie (Chuck) Giuffre, Jamestown,; five grandchildren, Mary Jo Giuffre, Gibsonia, Pa., Angelo (Ylsa) Giuffre, Giulia (Randal) Sowrey, Jamestown, Peter and Thomas Immordino, Gibsonia, Pa.; five great grandchildren, Anna, Rya, Calogero, Luciano and Katarina, all of Jamestown and a sister, Michela Plumeri, Sicily as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Joseph Vella, and his daughter, Annie Immordino.
Joseph was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His pride was always shown when he would speak so highly of his entire family to anyone he encountered. It was easy to see that his family was his pride and joy
A faithful provider and hard worker from the day he arrived in this country in 1955, having been employed with a few of Jamestown's notable manufacturers.
His work went well beyond company walls to touch the lives of many as his memory will continue to do.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
Friends will be received on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Community Foundation, Annie Immordino Scholarship Fund, 418 Spring St., Jamestown , N.Y. 14701.
