Obituary of Jackie Saboski

Jackie L. Saboski “Papa Jack”, 91, of Jamestown, NY passed away Thursday evening February 8, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by his daughter Judy and grandson Jacky Lee. He was born February 2, 1933, in Elk County, Fox Township on groundhog’s day in the home of his aunt and uncle to Thelma and Walter Saboski. Jack started school at the age of four in Limestone, PA and finished in Jamestown, NY. He then enlisted in the Navy at 19 years old, serving 13 years. After returning home from the Navy he held several jobs, including driving limousines, operating heavy equipment running a gravel pit, woodworking, private investigation and lastly a dog warden. He was a lover of dogs and animals and once owned a monkey and a skunk. Jack loved going fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He really did enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation. Jack has two half siblings Billy and Joyce. Jack had five children Walter, Kathy, Louis, Jackie, and Russell with Murial, Jane and Estelle. He ended up making a life with Linda Patterson and raised four kids Dawn, Bill, Judy and Mary, taking them away from a hard life of domestic abuse and poverty. In his later years he made his home with his son Bill then lastly with his daughter Judy and grandson Jacky Lee Sr. Jack gained ten grandchildren Myka, Zack, Brandon, Antonio, Korena, Joseph, Erik, Jacky, Payton, and Alyanna. Two great grandchildren Aaliyah and Jacky Lee Jr. Jackie is preceded in death by his father Walter when Jack was 18, his mother Thelma Pequignot whom he cared for in their home until her passing, two sons Walter and Russell Saboski, a daughter Mary, his best friend Alice Burch and a very close cousin Dick (Sueie) Ruth. To his family he did not have a chance to know, you were thought of often and loved. No services will be observed. There will be an inurnment at a later date where he will be placed with his father in Asbury Cemetery in Bay City, PA.
