Obituary of Jeffrey W Hopkins

Jeffrey William Hopkins, age 50, of Jamestown, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 26th, 2022, due to long-term complications of a traumatic brain injury he suffered in 2004 in a car accident outside Atlanta, GA. He was born in Dunkirk, NY on March 6, 1972 to Craig D. Hopkins, Jr. and Katherine A. Hopkins. Jeffrey graduated from Fredonia High School in 1991; attended JCC in Jamestown, NY for 2 years and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Brockport University in 1995 where he played varsity football. Jeffrey is survived by his 11 yr. old daughter Samantha; parents Craig D. Hopkins, Jr. (Karen) and Katherine A. Hennessey and brother Phillip (Shelley). He is also survived by nieces Lindsay & Leah and many aunts, uncles & cousins; friends and his 7yr old dog and best pal, Mack. Previous to his accident, Jeff was a juvenile probation officer in Mecklenburg County, NC and a Drug & Alcohol counselor at Brookville Correctional Facility in Brookville, FL. He was a life-long, AVID Buffalo Bills Fan and no one was as passionate as he was for the Bills; beginning as a child watching Training Camp every summer in Fredonia, NY in the 80’s. He was a fan of the NY Yankees as well and enjoyed collecting sport cards & memorabilia and spending time with his daughter Samantha. Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather to remember him.
