He would joke that he was literally the last person to leave the building as he closed and locked the door behind him, ending a career of close to 45 years at one facility.
Sam loved to garden and doing yard work. He was outside more than in. He took pride in being the first person to mow his lawn after winter. He always had a wonderful garden which he had well into his eighties. He was always happy to give away his vegetables to family and friends.
If he wasn’t outside in the yard, you could find him sitting on the porch reading or doing Cash Word scratch offs.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and later with their children. There was always a little kid running around the house at some time or another.
Sam and Jay enjoyed traveling with their friends the Giordano and Cala families to Miami Beach, Myrtle Beach, Thousand Islands and Las Vegas.
He loved to read and always had at least one book by his recliner or night stand.
