Roy Raymond Erickson, age 60, of Jamestown NY, passed away December 12th 2021 peacefully while sleeping at his home on Palmer Street in Jamestown. He was born May 10th 1961 at General Hospital in Jamestown NY.
Roy graduated Jamestown High School in 1979 and Enlisted in the United States Army in 1982.
Roy was an avid train enthusiast and spent his life enjoying photographing locomotives. He was a member of the Independent Railroaders club and volunteered for meals on wheels association of America and various local organizations.
Roy is survived by his Father, John E Erickson, Sr. (ED) and his stepmother Dawn Erickson of Jamestown NY and his Mother Margaret Peterson and Stepfather Kenneth Peterson also of Jamestown NY. Roy is also survived by his sister Rosa Town of Okeechobee Florida, a brother Robert Erickson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brother James Erickson of Gainesville Virginia, Sister Kim Schroeder of Tampa Florida, Sister Kellie Bielata of Tampa Florida, John E Erickson, Jr. of Jamestown NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in Death by his niece McKenzie Paulson of Falconer NY, his Grandfather Raymond Julius Erickson and Grandmother Estella Marie Erickson both of Jamestown NY.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at the Jamestown Community Chapel, Camp Street in Jamestown in January 2022. Specific date to be announced.
Family asks that any donations be made to the Alco Brooks Railroad Display C/O Dunkirk Historical Society and Museum for the Restoration of Locomotive #444 at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.
