**The family of David G. Emerling, who passed away on September 21,2020 will be holding a Day of Remembrance on Saturday September 25, 2021 from 2-5 pm at the Allen Park Men’s Club, 1309 Norby Road Jamestown New York 14701. Light refreshments will be served and masks are encouraged.**
David G. Emerling 59, of 451 South Main Street Jamestown NY passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 21, 2020.
David was born August 17, 1961 in Lackawanna NY and is the son of Marge Emerling and the late David D. Emerling. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and Jamestown Business College, where he earned an accounting degree.
Dave was the assistant manager of Walgreens and prior to that he had been employed with Quality Markets, Rite Aid and Bells Superstore.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dave knows he loved to hunt in the woods and tell stories. He strived to be his best self and you’d often hear him say things like “plan your work and work your plan, sharpen the axe, and wear good boots”. His philosophy in life centered around the “10/90”, 10% in life are things you can't control and 90% of life is how you deal with things in the 10% of life. Dave lived each day to the fullest and was always working his 90% His positive attitude and energy will be missed by many.
Surviving are his wife of 7 years Sylvia A. Emerling, 3 children, Andreau “Drew” Emerling (Emily) , Adam “AJ” Emerling (Danielle) Alexandrea “Alex” (Mike) Davis , 3 grandsons, Avery, Jack and Rhys Emerling along with his sister Sharon Emerling, his mother, Marge Emerling, his sister in law and brother in law, Pamela and Jim Mistretta and his niece and nephew, Jessica and Jimmy Mistretta. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Due to COVID19 restrictions a private service will be held in the Hubert Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at a time determined by the family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute or Chautauqua County Hospice.
