Obituary of Violet Chapman

Violet M. Chapman, 77, of 13 Flag Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at 11:32 a.m., at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa. She was born Sept. 19, 1942, in the former Jamestown General Hospital, Jamestown, N.Y. She was the daughter of Marian L. Upper and Christopher Charles Jackson, She was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She had been employed by the former Wilson Farms on Second Street. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with family, doing puzzel, going on vacation, going to the casino, gardening and her dog, Peanut. She is survived by two children: Melinda (Barry) Matteson and David A. Jackson; seven grandchildren: Christina A. Jackson,Joseph C. Chapman, Josuha L. Larsen, Jessica R. (Jeff) Patterson, Tabatha Ecker, Tiffany (Timothy Dowiasz) Ecker-Willsie and Samantha J. Ecker; seven great-grandchildren: Leah Willsie, Carson Willsie, Chloe Dowiasz, Airin Luszcak, Aurora S. Patterson and Sophia M. Franzen and a grandson due July 2, 2020; four brothers: Ronald Yaw, Chuck Jackson and Randy Yaw and Thomas Reed; and a sister, Deanna Smallish; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Koinonia Christian Fellowship, 1427 Peck-Settlement Road, Jamestown, N.Y. Pastor Chuck Jackson and Pastor Ron Lemon will officiate. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Family and friends are invited to attend.
