Obituary of Beverly L Shaka

Beverly Louise Juul Peterson Shaka, 88, of Frewsburg NY passed away on October 14, 2025, of natural causes. She was born on November 18, 1936, to the late Oskar and Doris Juul at WCA Hospital in Jamestown NY. She graduated from Frewsburg Central School in 1954 and took her civil service exam where she went onto being an admissions clerk for WCA and Jamestown General Hospital. On March 5, 1986, she married Vangel Shaka where they spent many wonderful years together. Beverly enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking with her Scandinavian family having smorgasbords. She loved making people laugh but was most of all a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and great grandmother. She is survived by her brother Jack (Connie) Juul, her children James, Steven, Randy and Brian (Diana) Peterson. Her grandchildren Bradley (Brooke), Brett, Brittany, Bryce (Kelsey) Peterson, Brandon (Brittany) Peterson, Brandy Golden, Natasha (Douglas) Sundquist, Amber (Chris) Fischer, her sister in laws Genevieve and Dawn Juul, and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers Donald (Grace), Robert (Phyllis), Richard and Kenneth Juul and her sister-in-law Beverly Juul and her daughter in laws Barb Maring and Debbie Pterson. A memorial service will be held on October 25 from 9AM – 11AM at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home with an inurnment to follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All are invited to continue celebrating the life of Beverly by joining the family at the Celoron Legion from 1PM-3PM. Donations may be made to Chautauqua County Hospice in Beverlys name.
