Lois C. Butcher, 91, of 46 Peterson St.Jamestown, N.Y. died in the early morning on April 27, 2020. She was born in Dunkirk, N.Y. on May 11, 1928, the daughter of Henry C. Rechlin and Pauline Teadt Galay Rechlin.
Lois, was a 1945 graduate of Dunkirk High School. Lois is predeceased by her husband Orville J. Butcher, whom she married on August 7, 1946. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Jeanette Rechlin Jones and her brother David H. Rechlin.
A resident of Jamestown for over the past seven decades, she was a member of Christ First United Methodist Church. Prior to recent years she was active with the Marco Polo Club Auxiliary, Moose Lodge #1681 Auxiliary and Henry Mosher Post #638 Auxiliary. For many years, Lois was a regular Election Poll Worker.
She is survived by a son, John D. (Charmaine) Butcher of Columbia, S.C. Four grandchildren: Johanna (Cory) Owens of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.,
Stephanie (Brian) Mezei of McDonough, GA., Natalie (Trip) Jendron of Charlotte, N.C. and J. Brandon Butcher of Columbia, S.C. Four great grandchildren:
Caroline and Katie Owens, Jane and Robert J. (Robbie) Jendron.
Lois was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had a smile for everyone. She will be deeply missed.
